簡單介紹

Dennis De Young ，為美國老牌搖滾團體－冥河合唱團（Styx）的靈魂人物，Styx可說是70年代最具代表性的搖滾象徵之一。

"Baby"、"Lady"、"Come Sail Away"、"Don’t Let It End"、"Mr.Roberto"等均是流傳許久的經典佳構，其中兩位靈魂人物-鍵盤手兼主唱Dennis De Young及吉它手Tommy Shaw，不但塑造了高比重吉它與鍵盤的招牌風格，其成功的個人生涯(前者曾以"Desert Moon"、"Call Me"等金曲創下百萬銷售，後者曾任重團Night Ranger、Damn Yankees主吉它手)也間接使得Styx的聲名更為遠播。自84年宣告解散以來歷經數次分合，主唱Dennis De Young最後決定與樂團分道揚鑣，多年的紛擾也告一段落。

單飛後的Dennis DeYoung 前兩張個人專輯「Desert Moon」和「Back To The World」，在唱片市場上都有著不錯的成績，而1984年「Desert moon」更是具有迷人的抒情搖滾曲風，在當時非常受到台灣歌迷的歡迎；而 1986 年在專輯「Back To The World」裡的另一首歌「Call me」，同樣也紅遍了台灣。「Call me」這首歌在整體的編曲上，採用了迷人的薩克斯風樂器音色，搭配著他深情高亢的嗓音，在字裡行間透露出對於逝去的愛戀，仍然抱持著一絲希望的衷情，而副歌的部分，他略帶嘶吼的詮釋，傳達了希望對方能夠回轉心意，平靜的電話真的會傳來好消息，這首歌也成為他個人最廣為傳唱的電台點播抒情歌曲。
