今天介紹的曲子是音樂盒舞者 Music Box Dancer, 這首曲子是 1974 年由 Frank Mills 所寫並收錄在他自己的專輯中。直到 1978 年變成單曲發行後, 才開始快速竄紅。

Frank Mills 在寫這首曲子時的原由是因為有一天 Frank 正在想一首曲子的時候, 他的小女兒突然進來打破了一個音樂盒。音樂盒的舞者分家了, 手也斷了。Frank 就把那首曲子命名為音樂盒舞者 Music Box Dancer 了。

“When I composed the song, I was searching for a title. One day my young daughter came to me with a broken music box to mend. There was a little dancer who popped up and spun around on a pedestal. Her arm was broken off. As I looked at it I said, ‘That’s what the song is, it’s the “Music Box Dancer!” ’ ” ........Frank Mills.

後來, 這首音樂盒舞者 Music Box Dancer 就不斷的被許多知名的演奏家所演奏。當然也包括了理查克萊德門。後來還有人幫忙寫了詞哩。這首曲子另一個特色是在 1970 年代, 它變成一首流行音樂 pop music, 這類樂章要變流行音樂真的很不容易。直到今年, 這首曲子一樣非常動聽, 至少有 44 種不同的版本, 更有 24 個在 iTunes 上的版本。
