Lisa Ray 'stems' the cancer tide

The actress is pleased that the stem cell transplant she had to arrest multiple myeloma has been effective.
這位女演員喜悅於她抑制多發性骨髓瘤的幹細胞移植已經開始發揮作用。

The model-turned-actor was admitted to the Henderson Hospital in Canada for stem cell transplant because she was suffering from a rare form ofcancer called multiple myeloma. Her transplant has been a success.
這位由模特兒轉行的演員，入院於加拿大的Henderson醫院接受幹細胞移植，因為她遭受一種罕見的癌症之害，多發性骨髓瘤。她的移植是個大成功。

“Fresh baked tweet- I’m out of Henderson Hospital! Stem cell success,” the actor
Twittered as soon as she stepped out of the hospital. Lisa underwent the transplant on
December 21.

Lisa has been fighting cancer by looking at the brighter side of life with her positive
attitude. Her Twitter posts indicate she has enjoyed her stay at the hospital.
Lisa一直以她正面的態度看待生命的光明面來對抗癌症。她發布的Twitter短訊指出了她享受於她在醫院裡的日子。

“This Stem Cell Reboot has Lisa version 2.0 taking resting to a new level. There a pro-
resters club out there?,” she jests.

Describing her experience of stem cell transplant, the 37-year-old actor wrote in her blog, “It was an odyssey. A trip to the core. The marrow had its way. Now I’m full of cheerful stem cells, like fields of sunflowers. I travel inside and watch them turn their small, yellow faces towards me. They giggle and beam. Go forth and multiply.”

Lisa is also thanking her near and dear ones post her stint at the hospital. “I am thankful to the care and attention I got at Henderson Hospital in Hamilton… Thankful to my father. Yellow thanks to Bobcat, Noni and Chris, Tina and Peter and Rose all super commuters. They came to infuse yellow into saline drip. Giggle, laugh, talk, read me out of my Diloted drowse. Shamim and Hanan for daily calls. Doc Raina for daily mantras, daily prayers and daily SMSs. Sindi for the inspiration. Namrata for keeping the sisterhood aflame.”

However, DNA has learnt through her close associates that Lisa will not be making any public appearance for quite some time until she is fully fit and the doctors give her a nod to go out of her home. Lisa is weak after the transplant and needs two months to recuperate.

“She has been really courageous and gutsy in tackling cancer. She is setting examples of how people should be when they know that they are suffering from an incurable disease. Looking at her we feel she can conquer cancer. She is giving all of us hope. She is very happy and satisfied and is always looking for the next day to do new things. That’s giving her all the confidence,” says a source.
